Welcome to the SSFR08 website!

After two years in Piolenc in the South East of France, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, it's time for change! We're heading to the Atlantic ocean this time. Change of venue, but no change in the philosophy of the event, the goal is still to have fun both on and off the bike!

Where is Ronce les Bains ?

Ronce les Bains is a small village near La Tremblade, in Charente Maritime. The village is along the Atlantic Ocean, just in front of the Oléron Island, near Marennes d'Oléron and Royan.

How to go there ?

The easiest way is by car, for sure. But you can come as near as possible by train, there are a few train stations near Ronce: Saujon at 20min by car, Rochefort, La Rochelle (TGV). If needed, we can organize shuttles.

You could also come by plane. Bordeaux is the nearest airport, the easiest to get to also from Ronce.

One thing to know: once you'll be in Ronce, you won't touch your car for the whole week-end!

What will I do in Ronce?

Thursday May 8th:
- Welcome of participants from 12:00 AM
- Number withdrawal
- Buffet-lunch
- Guided rides on the windy singletracks around Ronce

Sunday May 11th:
Last breakfast at the camping with other participants before heading home with lots of souvenirs!

And in between?

Some bike riding:
- Group rides
- Maybe an impossible downhill (think sandy)...
- Why not a night race?
- Or a cyclocross type race on the beach?
- Otherwise derby is good, isn't it?
Who knows what else could happen bike wise?

Not only bike riding:
- Meals for all participants every evening
- Good times, for sure
- A Cannondale throwing contest?
- Or a french bowls contest?
We don't know what will happen during the week-end, but you'll discover it soon enough!

Where do I sleep?

We'll all be in a camping called La Clairière, in Ronce les Bains. We negotiate a price with the camping for 4 people mobile-homes and for the 3 nights of the week-end.

If the mobile-homes are already full by the time you take your decision, you would still have the choice to camp.

Be careful, we'll need a 350€ caution for each mobile-home. If you cheques, bring them for that!

Don't forget your sleeping bag or sheets and a towel.

How do I eat?

We provide you every meal from thursday's lunch to sunday's breakfast, except friday's lunch.

How much is it for all that?

140€ all included (accomodation and meals), to pay at registration confirmation.
